Girly Grunge! I am a 90’s girl without a doubt. I’m obsessed with this decade- from the music and television to the movies and clothes. I couldn’t be more ecstatic about the best of the 90’s fashion making a triumphant come back. Rebecca Minkoff’s 2014 NYFW show was like watching an amazing hybrid of The Craft and Clueless—two of my favorite classics. It’s like her Fall ’14 line was created solely for me. My outfit was inspired by the perfectly polished, girly, and grungy look rolled into one. I purchased my skirt from Zara a few months back and it’s become a staple.
They’re floral printed shorts with a sheer plaid and pleated layered-over top. Every woman needs to own at least one crisp, white button-down blouse. I snagged mine at H&M for a steal. The leather vest is from Dynamite Style. Having a leather vest or jacket mixed into your wardrobe is essential and perfect when you feel the need to add a little edge to your outfit.
My boots are from ALDO. I love the lace-up style accented with the buckle straps. The more worn-in these boots, the better they begin to look. Of course, I can’t forget about a hair style to tie the look together. I pulled the front section of my hair taut and fastened it tightly right on top of my head. I gathered a small 1 inch section right behind the tied hair, wrapped it twice around the band and fastened it right behind the ponytail with a bobby pin.
I’m feeling very Neve Campbell today. Awesome!
