THRIFTY THREE

For as long as I can remember, I’d make exciting little trips to local drugstores and spend a solid hour in the beauty isle searching for new treasures, ready to commit cosmetic overkill. I was sure to walk out with an abundance of lip glosses, eye shadows, blushes, glitter eyeliner, nail polishes, face masks, body lotions, brushes- pretty much anything new or in magazines. I left with a thin wallet, but fuller heart. Did I really need all these beauty products? In my eyes, hell yeah! Realistically?… No.

Well, the habit is hard to kick. To this day, I’ll run into CVS or Target for trash bags and paper towels and leave with a bag of make-up instead. Don’t even get me started about what happens when I walk into Sephora or Ulta. I refer to both as rabbit holes.

Moral of the story: over the many years of this compulsive behavior, I have been triumphant in discovering some all-time favorites and essentials.

BABY LIPS! Can’t pass on a product with a name like that. The packaging is adorable too. I always have one of these puppies in my bag. They’re a perfect, every day, in-between lip gloss and chap-stick + lip-stick combo! Baby Lips offers the perfect blend of moisture, color and gloss. And with 6 different colors and flavors, you’ll have one to match just about every type of mood you’re grooving to.

Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towlettes is like the super-child of one of the greatest inventions of all time. I love face towelettes ‘cause they do a phenomenal job of removing my make-up, especially when I’m on the go. Burt’s Bees kicked it up a notch by adding a toning component to theirs, which works to improve skin complexion and clarity. Not to mention, the scent is heavenly.

Calgon Morning Glory shower gel completes my shower routine. I can’t quite describe it, so I’ll say it is UH-MAZING. It leaves you with that super-clean, fresh out the shower smell, with just the right amount of perfume-y goodness. Even my boyfriend loves using it!
