I’ve always loved the subtle stain that fresh berries leave on my lips. Luckily, I’ve found a way to achieve this effect even when I’m not munching on them! On top of this recipe being simple and full-proof, its refreshing to use natural products that nourish my lips.
What you need:
- 1-2 clean reclosable containers.
Start with a couple handfuls of your choice of berries. I recommend using blackberries and raspberries ’cause they’ve proven to be the most potent.
Toss your berries in a bowl. If you want a deeper red, add more black berries. If you’d like a brighter red, throw in more raspberries.
Begin to muddle the berries thoroughly, as the goal is to extract as much juice from them as possible.
Gently pour in about 2 teaspoons of olive oil. You can also substitute with coconut oil. Both of these oils work to condition and nourish your lips.
Continue muddling the berries in the oil until the juices and oil have mixed completely.
Place your strainer on a bowl and spoon the contents into the strainer one spoonful at a time. Use the muddler to help strain all the extra juice into the bowl.
Once you’ve separated the juice from the seeds and pulp, transfer it into an easy pour glass.
Carefully pour the the juice+oil combo into smaller containers.
There you have it! A simple, homemade lip gloss. Dab a little onto your lips and pucker. Now berries can add a sweet touch of all-day color to your lips!
