As a lady, there are a few essential, rather daunting tasks we must endure: finding the perfect bra, searching for the right foundation, waiting to come up on those amazing skinny jeans, and discovering the winning mascara that gets the job done every time. It’s a trial and error process that’s left a small mascara graveyard in my drawer. Luckily, I’ve had a few glorious victories along the way. In today’s post, I hope to put an end to your never-ending (pun intended) mascara search!

If you’re willing to pull out a couple extra bucks for an undeniably perfect mascara, Lancome Definicils is THE ONE to spend it on. For $ 27.50, you’re trading off for effortless application with solid, consistent results. It’s brush reaches and combs through every lash with each stroke, creating smooth, even, beautiful layers.

If anything over $10 scares your pockets, fear not! At $7.99, L’Oreal’s Butterfly Effect has quickly become a new favorite of mine. I usually go for Millions of Voluminous Lashes by L’Oreal, but I saw this at Ulta and my curiosity kicked in. My main draw to any mascara is it’s brush applicator. This brush’s unique shape offers precise length in the right places, which help comb through and fan out even the hardest to reach lashes so you aren’t left with that awful, clumpy look.

We’ve all heard of serums that promote lash growth, but they often run at steep prices which make it a luxury for many of us… Luxury no more. A friend referred me to the magical $8 Lash Accelerator by Rimmel. Naturally it’s low price made me skeptical, but after a week of using it, I’ve seen an undeniable difference in my lash length. It even has a small brush at the end of the wand for brow application if you wish to have fuller eyebrows. Say goodbye to pencil eyebrows!

*OUICK TIPS*

Before applying mascara, rub the tube between your palms to warm it up. Warming the mascara allows for smoother applications.

After applying your mascara, use a toothpick to carefully separate the lashes that stick together. This is going to give you a flirty fanned lash. Applying a 2nd coat is optional.

If you feel that your mascara is drying up inside the tube, place the entire (CLOSED) tube into a bowl of hot water. Again, the warmth helps to melt the dried mascara. If still dry, add 1-2 drops of baby oil in the tube and pump the wand 5-6 times to fully mix it.
