I’m a huge fan of matcha green tea. In fact, I drink it religiously. So, when I came across this recipe for a DIY matcha green tea sugar scrub I couldn’t resist!
And what perfect timing since I’ve been struggling with my dry and chapped skin thanks to the dry weather in Los Angeles.

This matcha green tea scrub was seriously so easy to make and only required four ingredients. Each of them has incredible benefits and a unique way of supporting healthy skin. The scrub is simple and gentle, yet very effective.

What You Need:

  • 1 1/2 cup of Organic Sugar
  • 2 tsp Matcha Green tea powder
  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil
  • 2 Green tea bags (not brewed)

Instructions:

  1. Remove tea from the tea bag
  2. Combine all the ingredients and mix well.

To use I recommend you start with wet skin in the shower. Let your shower water run with hot or warm water for about 5-10 minutes to soften your skin. Apply the scrub in a circular motion and then rinse off with warm water. You can use a mild soap to wash off after if you wish.

Results?

My skin was incredibly soft and moisturized after my first use. I had enough leftover that I was able to store the rest in a jar so I could use it later on in the week. You can also store the leftover for up to 2-4 weeks. Go ahead and give it a try! If it works for me there’s a good chance in can work for you too!
