Prepping Skin for Makeup

Achieving a flawless face begins before you apply any makeup. It’s important to prep your skin so it’s a nice smooth canvas, and will ensure makeup application is easy and fool proof. I know when I want to have what I call “a good face day” it begins in the shower. Here is my step-by-step for prepping my skin for makeup. Cleanse. It’s imperative that you wash away any dirt, makeup residue and unnatural oils left on your skin. I love Sunday Rileys Ceramic Slip. It’s gentle but deep cleansing. My latest hair inspiration came from Khloé Kardashian’s “wet waves” hairstyle. I loved the effortless sexy vibes of this throwback do. This look is far from the original, wet, crunchy-looking perm from back in the day.  So I gave it a try and had to share. And let me just tell you, nothing beats a carefree and easy hairstyle that doesn’t eat up your time staring at the mirror in your bathroom all morning.    It’s that time again, AKA every 2 weeks where I get lost amongst the cosmetic aisles of my local drugstore. I HAVE TO LOOK AT EVERYTHING- at least twice. Then I come home, take everything out of their little packages to start the ritual of trying everything on, and deciding if it stays or if it goes. Here are my favourites from my most recent binge.  1. Physicians Formula “Argan Wear” PrimerI love this primer! It smells delicious and the coconut water hydrates and preps my skin before I apply makeup. 2. Rimmel Volume Colourist MascaraI have always been a fan of Rimmel Mascara. This is the build-a-tan of mascaras. Definitely, recommend for those with blonde hair! 3. Pacifica Underarm Deodorant WipesThese wipes are such a godsend on hot days or those long day-to-nights. Sometimes you just want to freshen up throughout the day and these help you do that and smell great! 4. ELF Baked Trio Eyeshadow Recently this product has become my everyday go to for my eyes. The colors aren’t super pigmented but brighten up my peepers, and you can wear all three colors or just one. 5. Maybelline Master Precise SkinnyThis isn’t new for me, I have been using this liner for awhile but it’s so perfect for waterlines and simply “defining” your eyes as opposed to “lining” them. 6. Que Bella foot maskNow that...

Unless you live under a rock, you are well aware of the current nail art trend. I’m so obsessed that I  follow way too many nail art accounts on Instagram to count. Some of the designs I’ve seen are really intricate and impossible to DIY, but that doesn’t mean I’m not hell bent on finding ways to create my own design. I found this ESSIE Water Color kit at CVS the other day and I practically raced home to test it out. The kit includes four different polish colors.   One white polish that you use to create a...
